Lost or Delayed Shipments
In order to receive your score report and earned certificates, the MAA AMC office must receive the answer sheets by the date specified in the Teacher's Manual. MAA AMC is not responsible for lost or delayed answer sheets. Answer sheets received after these deadlines will not be scored. This means that students will not be eligible for additional invitational competitions, and their scores will not appear on the MAA AMC website.
The AMC office is not responsible for replacing lost competition materials.

Inclement Weather and School Cancellation Policy
If a school is closed on the originally scheduled AMC 8 competition day, the competition manager may administer the AMC 8 on a different day, as long as it is within the AMC 8 competition period indicated in the Teacher's Manual. The AMC 8 cannot be administered after the last day of the competition period.
If a school is closed on the originally scheduled AMC 10 A and AMC 12 A or AIME I competition day, the competition manager must immediately contact AMC customer service at amcinfo@maa.org to register the school for the AMC 10 B and AMC 12 B or AIME II. If a school is closed on the originally scheduled AMC 10 B and AMC 12 B or AIME II competition day, the competition manager may administer the competition at an alternative location, such as a local place of worship, a different school, a university, or a library. The competition manager must obtain approval from the school administration before administering the competition at an alternative location. No additional competition dates will be provided for the AMC 10 B, AMC 12 B, and AIME II if the school is closed on these dates.
If a natural disaster is declared by FEMA, and the school administering the competition is located in the affected county, the school may request a full refund for materials.

American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) Eligibility
The MAA AMC program will determine the eligibility index for students who qualify for the AIME each year. Once the deadlines are set and announced, they will not change. AIME qualification parameters depend on the results of the AMC 10 and AMC 12 competitions. For the AMC 10, at least the top 2.5% of all scorers from both A and B test dates are invited, and for the AMC 12, at least the top 5% of all scorers from each version are invited.

USAMO and USAJMO Math Olympiad Qualification
After scoring the AIME I and AIME II, the MAA AMC program will determine the cutoff index that qualifies students for the USAMO or USAJMO. Each year, the MAA AMC program selects approximately 500 students to participate in the two Olympiads. Once the index is determined and announced, it will not be changed. The USAMO and USAJMO indices are calculated as follows:
USAMO Index = AMC 12 Score + 10 x AIME Score
USAJMO Index = AMC 10 Score + 10 x AIME Score
If a student's score qualifies them for both the USAMO and USAJMO, they will be invited to participate in the USAMO. Only US citizens or students currently enrolled full-time in a school in the United States or Canada are eligible to participate in the USAMO and USAJMO. The MAA AMC office reserves the right to invite other students for IMO and EGMO team selection.

Competition Administration:
The MAA AMC is hosted by mathematical and educational organizations, including schools, colleges/universities, math circles, and learning/tutoring/enrichment centers. The competition is administered by a Competition Manager. This person must be affiliated with the hosting organization and needs to demonstrate this affiliation and the legitimacy of the organization during registration. The Competition Manager is an adult who is not related to any of the participants. Under no circumstances may a parent or guardian of a student participating in the AMC be involved in the administration of the competition. Homeschools are not permitted to register to administer the competition. Fees may be charged to students participating in the MAA AMC to cover the costs of administering the competition. Failure to comply with MAA AMC registration policies will result in disqualification.
The competition must be administered by the Competition Manager during the valid competition window. The valid competition window for this cycle is 8:00 AM to 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (GMT+5) on the official US competition dates. See the AMC Calendar. The Competition Manager may choose to administer the competition at different times for different students; however, for the integrity and security of the competition, the MAA AMC strongly encourages Competition Managers to administer the competition to all participating students simultaneously.
Registration Categories and Requirements:
Schools/Colleges/Universities
Schools/colleges/universities should register under the appropriate institutional category (Elementary School, Middle School, HS/JR, High School, College/University). Competition managers registering a school or college/university must use a school email address for registration and provide a link to the school's website. The MAA AMC must be administered by the registered school or college or institution, unless approved by the MAA AMC office or following inclement weather and school cancellation policies.
Math Circle
Math Student Circles and Math Teachers' Circles registered with and appearing on the American Institute of Mathematics (AIM) website may administer the MAA AMC. Materials for competition administration for Math Circles cannot be mailed to a residential address and must be mailed to the competition location. Acceptable locations for MAA AMC administration include schools, universities, libraries, or community centers. Competition managers registering a Math Circle must provide proof that the Math Circle is registered with AIM, provide a link to the Math Circle website, and provide the email address of the individual associated with the competition location who will be responsible for receiving the competition materials.
Learning Centers
Learning/tutoring/enrichment centers must be able to provide a link to the learning/tutoring/enrichment center website and provide a valid tax ID number at registration. Competition materials administered by learning/tutoring/enrichment centers cannot be mailed to a residential address and must be a business address. The MAA AMC must be administered at the registered learning/tutoring/enrichment center.

AIME Participation Location:
Students must take the AIME at the same competition location where they took the AMC 10 or AMC 12. This is to ensure that the student's AMC 10 or AMC 12 score can be matched with their AIME score for qualification for the USAMO. If the competition manager is unable to provide AIME I or II, or if the student absolutely cannot take the AIME at the same competition location, it is the competition manager's responsibility to contact other nearby schools listed on the competition locations webpage to arrange for another competition manager for the student, complete the venue change form, and send the form to the service center (amcinfo@maa.org).

International AIME Qualification:
Any student who takes the AMC 10/12 internationally is eligible to take the AIME, provided our international partners are licensed to administer the competition. For all competitions we hold internationally, student scores are not included in our system, and their names will not be published online when we announce honor rolls and distinguished achievement lists. US citizens who qualify for AIME and have AMC 10/12 and AIME scores and qualify for USAMO or USAJMO may participate in these international competitions. The exams must be taken concurrently with US students, and students participating abroad must adhere to the same rules and regulations as their peers participating domestically.

AIME II Registration
Students who qualify for AIME will be automatically registered for AIME I. If the competition manager is unable to administer AIME I and needs to administer AIME II, they must complete the AIME II registration form and pay the relevant fees by the deadline.

IMO Team Selection
The road to the International Mathematical Olympiad begins with the AMC 10/12. Students hoping to qualify for the IMO must first take either the AMC 10 or the AMC 12. The top-performing students in these competitions are then invited to participate in the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME). Students who perform well in both of these competitions are then invited to participate in the USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO) or the USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad (USAJMO). Approximately 60 of the top-performing students are then invited to the Olympiad Math Program, where they begin a series of team selection tests to determine the final six students the United States will send to the International Mathematical Olympiad.

Scoring Errors
If you believe there is a scoring error, please use the Rescore Request Form to request a review of the student's answer sheet. A fee of $35.00 will be charged for each student answer sheet rescore. The answers rescored will be the answers bubbled in on the answer sheet. If an error is discovered after scores are released, the change may not be reflected on the MAA AMC website. However, the MAA AMC office can provide supporting documentation to the student with the correct score. All student answer sheets returned for scoring will be recycled 80 days after the competition date.

Cheating
The MAA AMC office takes all disqualifications, allegations of cheating, and suspicious behavior seriously and must be reported to AMCHQ@maa.org.
Competition Manager Disqualification
If the competition manager clearly knows, based on personal observation, that a participant has cheated, the competition manager must disqualify that participant. After disqualifying a participant, the competition manager must notify the AMC of the disqualification so that further action can be taken.
Submitting Allegations of Cheating or Suspicious Behavior:
It is crucial to support this claim with facts or documentation. If the competition manager receives allegations or obtains circumstantial evidence of cheating, the competition manager must immediately report all evidence to the MAA AMC office via AMCHQ@maa.org. The MAA AMC office reserves the right to disqualify scores if it determines that rules and procedures have not been followed.
Ineligible Students:
If cheating is discovered, the student will be ineligible to participate in the remainder of the competition cycle, and possibly future cycles. Scores will be immediately removed from AMC's historical data.
