AMC8 Competition Rules
Format: Online or Offline.
Eligibility: Students in Grade 8 and below, who are under 14.5 years old on the day of the competition.
Exam Date: Expected in mid-to-late January 2027 (subject to official announcements).
Registration Period: Expected to open between September and November 2026, closing 1 to 2 weeks before the exam.
Duration: 40 minutes.
Content: Individual competition consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions.
Scoring: 1 point for each correct answer. No points are deducted for incorrect or unanswered questions. The maximum score is 25.
2026 AMC8 Cutoff Scores
Official cutoff scores for the 2026 AMC8 are published by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) following the competition. Students and parents should refer to the official MAA website or authorized announcements for the exact Honor Roll and Distinguished Honor Roll thresholds.
How to Register for the AMC8
Individual registration for the AMC8 is not permitted. To participate, students must register through one of the following three channels:
1. Register Through Your School
If your child's school is an official ASDAN partner or designated test center, the school will handle the registration process collectively.
2. Register via the ASDAN Mini-Program or Website
Students can register through the official ASDAN website or mini-program. Please note that this method also requires the student's school to be an official partner or test center.
3. Register Through an Authorized Partner Institution
If a student's school is neither an ASDAN partner nor a designated test center, registration can be completed through authorized educational training institutions that offer proxy registration services.
