The AMC China Region
The same exams, scoring and pathway as the global AMC – administered locally, with its own registration channel, bilingual papers and exam calendar.
Who can take the AMC in the China region
Students studying at schools in mainland China register through the China-region channel. One rule matters most:
- Students with American or Canadian school enrolment status cannot sit the exam in the China region – they register through the United States / international channel instead.
- Age and grade limits are the same as the global AMC (see the table below).

The China-region AMC 8 is offered with both Chinese and English papers. Exams are delivered online – either home-based or at an on-campus test centre. For reference, in the most recent cycle the China-region AMC 8 was held on 23 January 2026, and AMC 10 and AMC 12 ran in two sittings (A and B) in November.

Awards
AMC 8 (China region): Perfect Score, Honor Roll of Distinction (top 1%), Distinction (top 5%), Top 10%, Top 25%, and Achievement Roll.
AMC 10 / 12 (China region): Honor Roll of Distinction, Distinction, and Achievement Roll (by grade). Top performers qualify for the AIME – the next step on the road to the USA(J)MO and the International Mathematical Olympiad.
How to register
Registration for the China region is handled through the local channel rather than directly with the MAA. Windows open ahead of each exam – AMC 8 in January, AMC 10/12 in autumn. Because dates and fees are set each season, the simplest way to register correctly and on time is to talk to us.
