AMC Online Level Assessment

A free assessment that gauges a student’s current mathematics level and points to the right AMC exam – AMC 8, AMC 10, or AMC 12 – along with the preparation that fits.

What the assessment is

The assessment is a short, friendly diagnostic built from problems in the style of the American Mathematics Competitions. It is not a graded exam and there is no penalty for guessing – it simply samples a range of topics and difficulty so we can see where a student stands today. The result is a clear, honest signal of strengths and gaps rather than a single pass-or-fail mark.

How it helps you choose the right exam

The three AMC exams sit at different levels. AMC 8 is for students through grade 8 and rewards careful arithmetic, counting, and early geometry. AMC 10 and AMC 12 are for high-school students and move into algebra, deeper geometry, number theory, and combinatorics, with AMC 12 reaching pre-calculus topics. Picking the right starting point matters: too easy and a student coasts; too hard and the experience discourages more than it teaches.

Once we see the results, we read them like this:

  • Comfortable with grade-8 topics, new to competitions – start with AMC 8 to build confidence and contest habits.
  • Solid algebra and geometry, in early high school – aim for AMC 10 and treat any gaps as a focused study list.
  • Strong across algebra, geometry, and number theory – target AMC 12 and begin working toward AIME-level problems.

How to take it

The assessment is arranged for each student individually. Contact us using the form below and we will send the assessment, then review it together and recommend the exam and preparation plan that fit – so a student starts at the level where they will grow the fastest.
